Birdwatching
We are in the process of setting up a group for people who are interested in watching and learning about birds in the local area . Everyone with such an interest is welcome to join irrespective of their level of ‘birding’ experience.
- First meeting is Thursday 15th February 2024 at Clee House. When John Wren will talk to us about birdwatching equipment and offer advice on what you need to be a successful birder .We will also aim to plan a couple of early site visits
- We will meet at Clee House periodically with most meetings being field trips to local birding sites.
- On Friday 22nd March we will make our first field trip visiting the iconic WWT reserve at Slimbridge . Members should meet in the car park behind Morrisons at 9.30 .Cars can be parked there for £1 day. We will take a number of cars with some flexibility in case some people wish to leave Slimbridge at different times.
- The April field trip will be to the reserve at Coombe Hill or Kemerton Lakes (depending on conditions) on Thursday 18th April .We plan to meet at Morrisons car park ( on the left opposite the filling station )
- at 9.30 to share cars
